The Mission of Palmetto Homeschool Association is to provide an umbrella of accountability and guidance to South Carolina homeschoolers according to Section 59-65-47 of the SC Code of Law, allowing member families to homeschool their children according to their own educational philosophies without undue requirements and restrictions.

Palmetto Homeschool Association (PHA) was founded by Carolyn and Jeff Petroski with the intent of allowing parents more freedom to homeschool their children.

Palmetto Homeschool Association, Inc. was incorporated as a non-profit organization on July 2, 1996, and is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization.

PHA is registered with the South Carolina Department of Education as a 3rd Option Accountability Association.
